Biography

Montreal assembled band, What If Elephants, is the rhythmically driven blend of indie-pop / alt-rock surrounding the warm and catchy melodies derived out of singer/songwriter project "Joey Langlois". With their new Montreal-inspired material and magnetically fetching debut live performances, their EP currently in production is highly anticipated by their previous projects following and newly befriended fans.

In spring 2012, drummer, Justin Wiley, and frontman, Joey Langlois, collaborated for one of Joey's debut solo projects. "We were finishing up our college program in sound and music production and were eager to give our newly acquired knowledge a test drive. We grabbed a small handful of songs and that's where it started," Joey explains, "…and then went a little further than anticipated." After the release of their first project, 'Home to Me' under Langlois' name, they assembled a band including Alanna Martin on keys and backing vocals, and Paul Col, former bassist, to hit the cafés, pubs and bars of Montreal.

Band Members

Having performed along-side emerging and well respected artists such as Motel Raphael, Zerbin, David Martel, Roxanne Potvin, The City Harmonic, Open Sky, Ben Cardili Band, Stefanie Parnell, and Brittany Kwasnik, What If Elephants' has developed a presence that feels like an amplified living room dance party.

Bassist, Éric Létourneau, joined the party in summer of 2013 to back up the approaching release of the 'Spin Around Me E.P.’ in October 2013. The EP, mixed by Tokyo Spears (of Cardboard Crowns) and mastered by George Seara, (Finger Eleven, Jesse Cook, Rihanna) was a step towards the development of What If Elephants' highly evolved sound since the first project. With a growing sense of their collaborative strengths, they're producing their highly animated and impassioned mix of their pop rock roots and Montreal's independent and signature flavour.
